For Junior Girl Scouts
Visit a MSU food lab and learn about different cooking equipment. Have fun on a kitchen scavenger hunt too! Work in small groups with a dietetic college student to prepare a nutritious breakfast, lunch, dinner, or dessert dish. Participants will watch a demonstration of cooking skills, learn about food chemistry and sample the recipes made. Girls will earn and receive the Simple Meals badge.
Note: Adults will be chaperoning, not participating.

GSHOM’s goal is to offer quality programs to as many girls as possible. At least two adults must accompany every troop/group to an event. In order to serve as many girls as possible, and make sure there is plenty of space to provide the program, troops are asked to keep their adult to girl ratio to the ratio specified in Volunteer Essentials for Events/Programs. Please click here for the link to Safety Activity Checkpoints and refer to page 5.
Troops/groups that register more adults than listed in the ratio listed above may be asked to limit the number of adults to the correct ratio.
