Do your girls want to go camping, but you are not sure what you need to do? No worries! This course will prepare you to lead young or inexperienced Girl Scouts on their first overnight experience. This training is a requirement for your troop to build a fire or stay at a GSHOM property. There is homework to complete before coming to camp, and then a discussion session and skills check before going into Outdoor Skills 2 curriculum. Both components need to be completed to receive credit for Outdoor Skills 1.Some of the topics that will be covered are advanced cooking methods (over various heat sources), equipment rental, camp/tent care, knots, outdoor etiquette, and health and safety.

NOTE: THIS CLASS WILL BE HELD COMPLETELY OUTSIDE, PLEASE DRESS APPROPRIATELY FOR THE WEATHER.
